Animated Movies that became long-standing animated cartoons.
Start with the Lion King, it had 2 direct to DVD Movie, The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride and the prequel the Lion King 1 1/2.
Now the cartoons on the Disney Channel was The Lion King’s: Timon and Pumbaa, which ran for three seasons with a total of 85 episodes. I never watched this, it was not interesting enough for me but I do know that the stuffed toys and caricatures had quite a following. The Jungle Book was also a Disney Animated Movie that became TaleSpin, which ran for three seasons and had 65 episodes but currently at this time only the first two seasons are available. This cartoon series I did watch, it was a lot of fun.
The Little Mermaid also had three seasons total of 31 episodes but it did also have two made for DVD movies 1 is The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea and the second one The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning. To be honest with you I did watch this cartoon, it was fun and I was not disappointed when ended.
Aladdin which also had to made for DVD movies, The Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves. This movie also had three seasons with a total of 86 episodes, believe it or not I watched most of them and I like them.
Hercules, which had the prequel Hercules: Zero to Hero, and if you think about it this particular direct to DVD movie could be considered the start of Hercules The Animated Series. This cartoon series ran for 65 episodes and I did watch mostly episodes, I guess I liked it.
101 Dalmatians an old classic cartoon that believe or not lead to 102 Dalmatians and a straight to DVD movie 101 Dalmatians II: Patch Is London Adventure. And yes this ran one season with 65 episodes and well I never saw this.
Tarzan can’t forget this one this also had to direct to DVD movies Tarzan and Jane and Tarzan II: The Legend Begins. This had two seasons and a total of 39 episodes and of course yes I did watch they were quite good.
The Emperor’s New Groove which is basically a play on The Emperor’s New Clothes which had a sequel, Kronk’s New Groove which went directly to DVD. And had The Emperor’s New School animated series. Believe or not this ran for two seasons and had a total of 52 episodes, and for me I am not a fan of this movie for cartoon.
Lilo and Stitch, Stitch! The Movie, Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, Leroy and Stitch a total of three direct to DVD movies along with two seasons and 65 episodes. Of which I may have only seen half and from what I saw was quite good.
