San Diego Comic Con 2012

San Diego Comic Con 2012
The Greatest Comic Convention has come and gone.  Me and the City of San Diego are now taking a year to recuperate from 5 days of Games, Masked Characters, the occasional Actors, Collectors by the bus load, and crazy fans, who are willing to spend lots of time in long lines, as spending tons of money.  This is the Comic Con that everyone tries to come too,  but with Pass limitations, and ever-expanding interests, its hard to contain all that excitement into one venue, so it has been spreading into the nearby hotels, and across the road to the front of Hard Rock Hotel and beyond.  People I talked with this year all had the same grumblings, murmurings, has this convention just outgrown the limited space of the San Diego convention center. Most of the people I talked with agreed.  I mean you could see it. with longer lines outside the convention some going as far as the Embarcadero Marina, or best Joes Crab Shack.  The main hall, you could tell a lot had been changed, everyone is going up,  A lot of the vendors scaling down,  even merging.  In all its still the greatest show.  With that said, the panels like always are very instructive, as well as fun.  I personally got to see Jacki Chan, it was really good and funny. I stayed to see Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Randy Couture, Terry Crews and Dolph Lundgren.  This was a lot of fun.  I did see the movie, and really will add it to my collection of Blu-ray/DVD.  I can’t forget, they also had a really fun Zombie Escape, taking in place at PetcoPark, I had some Friends who participated, 2 were survivors, and 1 was a Zombie.  I was told that being a survivor going thru obstacle course was tiring.  I think in 2013, if they do this again, I will try to be a survivor.  In side the convention, main Hall, there are certain locations that are a must to check out, The Small Press and the Artist Alley (they do need to change the name as well as make it larger) Artist Alley is an awesome place to have an artist draw in a scrap-book, of course for a price, but its worth it.  You can also purchase prints that show off a lot of their talents. Small Press Area, Is not small.  This area has a lot to offer to those who want more, or somethings different.  It’s worth going thru, I’m sure you will find something that will really peak your interests.  The rest of the Hall has the Vendors selling almost everything related to the art of Science Fiction, Comic Books, and Movies, Toys and you name it.  Then you have the Toy Makers, Major Studios, and a whole lot of just WOW.
